Pryscan

Know the total before the till.

Most of us find out what a shop actually cost at the checkout, when it is too late to put anything back. Pryscan reads the price off the shelf label through your camera and keeps a running total while you walk around.

What it does

Reads the shelf, not the receipt. Point the camera at a price label and hold still. Pryscan finds the price and adds it to the basket. Change the quantity and the total follows.

Keeps you inside a budget. Set what you mean to spend and a bar shows where you are — at the shelf, with the thing still in your hand, rather than at the till with a queue behind you.

Remembers the trip. Close a basket and it is saved with the totals exactly as they stood, so you can look back at what a big shop actually cost.

Converts, when you are somewhere else. If the price is in a currency you do not think in, it converts as it reads. Rates are cached, so no signal is fine, and you can set one by hand if it looks wrong.

Works with no signal at all. Text recognition runs on the phone, not on a server.

No account, no tracking. Nothing to sign up for. Your baskets and trips are on your phone and nowhere else.
